Create amazing slides!

Image
Hello! I'm gonna explain one of my favorite websites now. Are you ready? OK then, it's Nearpod. Nearpod gives you an opportunity to create professional slides that you can use as a material in your classes. You can add activities, web contents, and some other contents which are available on the website like 3D visuals, simulations, audios, videos, PDFs and much more. So they will become more realistic and easier to learn for children. After you create your slides, you either share it with your class online or open it on your class and show them. As an example for you, I made a slide for 7th grade students about 10th unit "planets". I added a video from Youtube to the beginning of the slide show. Because I thought it'd be a good activity if I show the video first and then ask them to write down some notes that they understand from the video. Then they are supposed to say their favorite planet among them and list the reasons for it either written or orally (I pr

Easy but effective!

Hello again! I prepared a new material on "quizlet" This time my students are 2nd grade. The material is suitable for 9th unit "fruits" and it's a kind of word cards. On one side there is English word for a particular fruit and on the other side there are both a picture and Turkish word for that fruit. You can click the link and check my cards. https://quizlet.com/_6j3gpp

Hello! I have another website which is named "Canva". By using canva you can create your own posters, templates, designs... I prepared mine for high school students to make them write a paragraph about protecting animals. Here my design is: https://www.canva.com/design/DADYJJqVCAI/share/preview?token=K68GwwVuHJH4BDBXCAItmg&role=EDITOR&utm_content=DADYJJqVCAI&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=sharebutton

Who doesn't like comics?

Image
Hello! I'm back. This time it's not a video. This time we'll create some funny comics. The name of the website is "Pixton". First you should choose your characters' appearances and then the environment. Then you can add speech bubbles and that's it. Now I'm gonna add my comic. I prepared it for 10th grade, 3rd unit "legendary figure" which includes past tense as a language focus. Please take a look! https://share.pixton.com/putdgtf

Tiny funny exams!

Hellooo! I'm back with another website (also an application) which is named Kahoot. Kahoot makes test questions funnier. .You can write your questions and choices and share it with your student by giving them a game PIN which belongs to your test. You can also create surveys and jumbles. I believe it's better than giving them a paper. Because students can see scores and compete, they will be more motivated to do the test. Here my test which I prepared for 6th grade "yummy breakfast" unit. you click and check it. https://create.kahoot.it/share/6th-grade-yummy-breakfast/314db929-424c-4c48-92e4-f302e47d33b8

Lost in stories!

Image
Hi! This time it's not a video. This time it's a story. Storybird is a website that you can read stories or you can write your own story. It's a good material to use in classes. For example my story will make them gain a new perspective on hunting. So would be suitable to use it as a material so that students can write an argumentative essay or a paragraph according to their level. I'll attach the link here. I suggest you to check it. See you! https://storybird.com/picture-book/the-most-dangerous-creature-on-earth

Like a cartoon character!

Hello! I am here again with my new material. I created it on "voki" which is a website that you can use to create your own characters and make them speak. As an example I will attach my video's link here for you to check. It's for beginner level and about introducing yourself. Enjoy the video! http://tinyurl.com/y3m2lksh

Animotions are always enjoyable!

Image
Hello friends! I prepared a short video on animoto. Animoto is a  website that you can use to create your own videos for free. my video is about animals. It can be used for 9th grade student for the unit of "human in nature". For example you can first show the video and then want them to write a paragraph about their favourite animals or about why should we protect the animals. or you can use the video as an attention gather. Here the video is. I hope you'll enjoy it. https://youtu.be/sOqz1Qs_rxw

Make the world funnier!

Hi everyone! This week i have an aurasma study. Before the video i want to explain what an augmented reality is. Augmented reality is the integration of digital information with the user's environment in real time. Unlike virtual reality, which creates a totally artificial environment, augmented reality uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. It's important to integrate them into education. Because they give us an opportunity to create a more concrete environment. For example instead of saying "elephant means fil in Turkish. Write it down 5 times and memorize it“ we can use augmented reality. So, class will be more enjoyable and vocabularies will be catchy.  Now it's time to watch the video. I hope you'll enjoy it https://youtu.be/g230A1ctECE Let me say one more thing. I created this video on the application "HP reveal". There are also some more applications that you can use for AR. Names of them are "

Did somebody say animation?

I'm back with another useful website. It's called Powtoon. It's a website that allows you to create your own slides. It's a bit like Power Point but I think it's funnier. so it' more suitable for little learners like primary school student. If you integrate such funny stuffs to your class I believe students will feel more motivated and willing. As a result their success will increase. I'll drop a link which belongs to my powtoon about film types (for 5th grade, 6th  unit). Please watch it, create your own slides and use them in your classes. https://www.powtoon.com/c/f7yfJ4quI6I/1/m

Some visuals that you'll like

Hello! This time I tried a new website (also an application) which is called "Seesaw". You can create your class and add your student into the class. You share your tasks or activities with your student in  an online environment by using it. I'll drop a link which belongs to the activity that I prepared. So, if you need to see a sample you can check it. Good luck with Seesaw! https://app.seesaw.me/pages/shared_activity?share_token=87t6NW_DSp29lFm2z5UQFQ&prompt_id=prompt.ac1bc13f-48d0-4052-926b-d0ce4053a128

A useful website!

Image
Hi everyone. As you all know, it'd be better to use visuals in education. Because it not only develops students' visual intelligence but also makes it easier to remember for them. So I prepared a visual as a sample on padlet. (for those who don't know what padlet is, it's a website that you can prepare such tables, pictures, visuals).   My padlet is about sport which is the second unit of 7th grades. You can glance it to have an idea.I recommend you to use such things in your classes.  https://padlet.com/btlkms2434/btlkms_padlet

First podcast

Hello again! I want to share my study with you. As you know, english teachers generally give a word list to their students and want them to memorize them. But it's not a wood way to teach vocabulary. So i suggest you creating a story which includes target vocabulary. You can either do this with class or create the story on your own. But of you do this on your own, you can do a role play activity or find/create animation using technology. This way it would be more effective. I have an example to story. I'm gonna share it now. It's a 5th grade, 9th unit activity. The words of the activity are: Adopt, bark, butterfly, donate, duck, feed, frog, help, imitate, kitten, lake, monkey, parrot, puppy, rabbit, sheep, shelter, sleep, squirrel, stark, turtle, vet, visit, wink, dolphin. And here the story is. I hope you'll enjoy it. https://youtu.be/lagRW6q_tN4
